Viktor Vekselberg

Viktor F. Vekselberg was born on April 14, 1957, in Drogobych, Lviv region. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers (MIIT) and enrolled in the graduate school at the Computing Center of the Academy of Sciences.

Professional activities:

In 1990 Viktor Vekselberg established Renova management company (originally as a Russian-American Joint Venture) and took over as its Director General. Currently, Mr. Vekselberg is Chairperson of the Renova Group of Companies’ Supervisory Committee. In 1996 he founded the SUAL group and served as its President until 2003, later chairing its Board of Directors. From 2002 to 2003 he served as Chairperson of the Board of OJSC Tyumenskaya Neftyanaya Kompania (Tyumen Oil Company). Currently Mr. Vekselberg is a member of the TNK-BP Board of Directors serving as Executive Director for Gas Business Development.

Since 2007 he has been Chairperson of the Rusal United Company (Rusal UC) Board of Directors. Viktor Vekselberg is a Member of the Bureau of the Board of Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE), Chairperson of the Committee for RUIE International Activities of. In March 2010 Russian President D. A. Medvedev appointed Viktor Vekselberg head of the Russian part of the Skolkovo Innovation Center project.
